Traditional Summer Breaks at Sutherland Estates
The stuff that memories are made of.
If you want us to, we can also arrange other activities for your stay. Here are some examples:
Mountain bike trails in Golspie, Sutherland
A day trip by train (from the Sutherland Estates own railway station) to the RSPB's peatland reserve at Forsinard.
Falconry tuition with Dunrobin Castle's acclaimed falconer, Andy Hughes.
A round of golf at Golspie Golf Club or one of the six other golf courses in the area.
Local horse riding can be arranged.

Take your family on an old-fashioned summer holiday this year and spend a week or two enjoying the northern latitudes of Sutherland. Included with our lodges are the natural pleasures of bountiful fresh air, long safe days to spend outdoors and that special summer peace only found in the far north.

Wildlife Walks

If building dens in the woods, pedalling the peaceful lanes or roaming the beaches are not enough to keep everyone happy, a local ranger will take you out for a wildlife walk through the Estate's hidden corners. You might go fishing on the hill lochs or rivers, hunt for deer in the forests, seek rare birds of prey, or quietly watch for pine marten or the elusive wildcat.

And while you're out, our housekeeper will restore domestic order to your lodge. To make sure that everyone gets the chance to relax we will happily put you in touch with a local cook.

Grown-ups might also appreciate one of the two local distilleries, the high-quality textile and craft outlets in the area, the fresh local food, the swimming pools, tennis courts and seven golf courses nearby - and above all, the easy pace of northern life.
